Just recently finished reading The Pirate King by R.A. Salvatore. It's 2nd part of the the 3-part "king" series within Salvatore's larger Drizzt series. It's a solid book. Lots of good action scenes with a nice balance between sword fights and sorcery. I'm looking forward to the third.

Wolf Under Siege: The Wolf Who Would Be King #5 by Robert Poyton.
@David Malaski Wow, last I looked there were only three in that series. I didn’t even know this was out.

For some reason the 4th was released as a paperback on amazon and at Innsmouth Gold Press as a PDF. The author was nice enough to send me a copy he converted for my kindle. The 5th is back on Amazon as an ebook.

Man, I read SO MANY Thieves' World books back in the day. I should revisit the series one of these years.

The first 20 pages are filled with violence, cannibalism, and sex. The reviews on GR genuinely didn't like it, while those on Amazon did. Certainly not for everyone.
I'm kicking off the new year with a book from one of our very own!

I just started "Lords of Dyscrasia" on Audible. I'm also reading The King of Elfland's Daughter. I generally read two books at once...one on audible and one written. I usually go through the audibles more quickly.

I need to read more of those -- the ones that I have read were lots of fun.

I've only read one so far, but yeah, it was just plain ol' enjoyable!
@Carrie, Nice! I'm a multi-book-at-a-time reader as well, but I must say, splitting time while reading Malazan, especially just kicking things off, is asking for trouble :) And most likely not going to last, as you'll dive directly into the wonderfully deep world and rush to spend the next year or two reading all of it sans distractions!
Jason M wrote: "@Carrie, Nice! But I really don't doubt I'll be spending much of my year in this world. What I've read so far is really good.
I'm working on reading "The Collected Fantasies of Clark Ashton Smith, and am on Vol II, The Door to Saturn. I am also reading Flame and Crimson: A History of Sword-and-Sorcery by Brian Murphy
