Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I say we say it counts. Are we counting "The" in the T-words? Haha, if so, I've just finished Harry Potter and THE Deathly Hallows, but I feel like that's just pushing it. X)

message 152: by Barb (new)

Barb It's all for fun -- and to boost reading, of course -- so if you want to count it, go ahead and count it :) If we count "The"s, I'll have a LOT more books that qualify LOL

message 153: by Barb (new)

Barb Jane wrote: "I have just finished Wait For Me.
Does it work for our mini-challenge or does it have to be the first word in the title that starts with M or T? "

Well, I'd originally intended for it to be the first word of the title, but why not? Let's count any word in the title :) Or do we want to count only *major words? *cough*Steven*cough*

message 154: by Barb (new)

Barb Just a reminder: If you finish books that count for our first mini-challenge, please post them HERE, so I don't miss them in amongst the general chatter. Thanks :)

message 155: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments It's official... THEs count! Hahaha

message 156: by Barb (new)

Barb LOL Then we should be able to count almost every book we read this week!

message 157: by [deleted user] (new)

Just finished my third book: True Stories of CSI The Real Crimes Behind the Best Episodes of the Popular TV Show by Katherine Ramsland . It was good but graphic, but can't complain since I like those kind of books. Now, I will be reading Scarlet (Lunar Chronicles, #2) by Marissa Meyer when I wake up this morning.

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Good morning, Mangos...

Looks like we're in the lead! :) Good work team!!! Let's keep it up!!!

message 160: by Barb (new)

Barb Have all of our team members checked in?

message 161: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments No. We're still missing three people. I've contacted Lisa Kay and Sonia about it, and asked Karla to check in with her sister Kayla.

Three members down, still in the lead? That bodes well. :)

message 162: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah. We must be doing something right when we are still in the lead with only three people not checking in.

message 163: by Barb (new)

Barb That's actually why I asked LOL Let's go team!

message 164: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments It's because the Mango Tango gets into your blood and makes you dance! :)

GO TEAM MANGO TANGO!

message 165: by [deleted user] (new)

We are currently tied with Tickle Me Pink for first place.

Let's go Mango Tango. Let's stay in first place.

message 166: by Jane (new)

Jane | 705 comments I am currently 47 % into my next book. Being off work because of a bad cold, hopefully I will finish it later to day.

message 167: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I hope you feel better, Jane!!!

message 168: by Barb (new)

Barb Yay for reading time, boo for feeling sick :( Feel better soon, Jane!

message 169: by Barb (new)

Barb I'm off to read a bit before my DIL this afternoon. She's in town for a variety of family celebrations, so she, daughter and I are heading to one of our favorite restaurants tonight for a girls' night out. I suspect we'll be chattering and visiting most of the evening, so I need to get my reading time in NOW :) Have a good afternoon/evening, everyone!

message 170: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments You have a good one too, Barb, and enjoy your evening out.

I have had NO time to read at all today, other than LESS than a chapter at lunch. bah humbug.

message 171: by [deleted user] (new)

I was able to read a few chapters in between classes but I'm hoping to read some more tonight.

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 775 comments Hi everyone. I hate that I can't listen to my iPod at work anymore. Seems I have no time to really read or listen eye any more. I read a little @ lunch but 30 min is not enough time when u get to the good parts u have to put the book away. :(. Have a good time tonight Barb

message 173: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I need to start listening to the audiobooks I have on my Fire while I work.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments You guys are rocking this challenge!

I blame my team's low numbers on the fact that it's full of mods who were all busy getting this here tower team thing all organized for a few days, hehe!

Less than a chapter at lunch, Steven?! That's downright criminal! I took my book out to lunch and I think I accomplished about the same, lol. I only had about 20 minutes due to transportation time.

message 175: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I know. I'm ashamed. :(

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Steven wrote: "I know. I'm ashamed. :("

Hehe, aw. I'm sure your book still loves you.

I've got a date with my latest read and the couch.

TTFN! (Ta-Ta For Now, in Tigger speak)

message 177: by Karla (new)

Karla Unfortunately, I didn't get much reading done yesterday. I watched a movie in which a deployed soldier didn't get any mail ever during mail call and it made me sad. I spent most of the day searching a way I can right to soldiers who need help.

Anyway, I'll read some today and get Kayla set up for the challenge.

message 178: by Jane (new)

Jane | 705 comments Thanks Steven & Barb. Unfortunately not feeling better, it seems to get worse in the evening.
Looking on the bright side I did finish Goddess Legacy (Goddess Series, #1) by M.W. Muse

message 179: by Barb (new)

Barb Steven wrote: "You have a good one too, Barb, and enjoy your evening out.

We had a great time tonight, just catching up. Son and DIL are preparing to move to Okinawa in about six weeks, so we're taking advantage of every chance we get to spend time with them before they leave. We had some fantastic food, and were lucky to snag a table that gave us an incredible view of the river. So much fun!

I didn't get much time to *read today either, but while I was tidying around the house earlier, I was able to finish listening to The Trudeau Vector, which counts for our mini challenge. Not as good as I'd hoped it would be, but not awful either. On my way to work tomorrow, I'll start That's Not in My American History Book, which will also count for the mini challenge IF I finish it before the end of the week :)

@ Jane: I hope you feel better soon!

message 180: by Barb (last edited Apr 16, 2013 07:52PM) (new)

Barb Oh, and Steven ... I'm about 1/4 of the way through The King's Deception. It's getting harder and harder to put it down, but there are other books I "need" to read for challenges that end this month, so this one doesn't have a high priority right now *sigh*

message 181: by Barb (new)

Barb Steven, did you see that there's a Cotton Malone novella coming out at the end of this month? Check out The Tudor Plot . My only complaint is that it's about 50 pages too short to count for any of my challenges :)

message 182: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Ah, it'll be a prequel to The King's Deception then. They've started doing short story prequels to make extra money. X)

message 183: by Barb (new)

Barb Yep, that's exactly right! I wonder if it'll make any sense to those who've already read The King's Deception? Guess time will tell ... since I just pre-ordered it for my Kindle :)

message 184: by [deleted user] (new)

We have lost the lead. Magenta Mix-Up is in the lead now. We are 3 books behind them.

You tell him Teresa!! :)

message 186: by ~Mariee~ (new)

~Mariee~ | 12 comments Hi everyone,

I just added my 2 books read since 12th (about 15 minutes ago), I wonder if they were included in the total?

message 187: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I pre-ordered it also, Barb.

Yeah, Nancy... we'll catch up. :)

message 188: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Mariee, I'm about to update our group spreadsheet with all the totals. Do you have the link for that? It's at the top of this thread.

message 189: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Hi ~Mariee~
Not yet. I did the last update before you joined. But you can check the total on the team's challenge page

message 190: by ~Mariee~ (new)

~Mariee~ | 12 comments Thanks Guys, it says we have read 23 so far. I think we are doing very well. Go Team Mango Tango *Mariee shakes her pom-poms Cheerleader style*

message 191: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments We're officially one book behind the lead team. :)

Remember guys, we're really early in the game so it's okay to be behind some. Keep a steady pace and don't burn out!

We've got 1327 more books to read!!!!

message 192: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Added Mariee's books to the Team's Summary Spreadsheet.

I'm planning on doing two updates a day - on the morning and nigh (GMT time) - unless real life gets on the way.

In case of doubt or major differences you can always check the results the traditional way.

If any mistake is made please let me know OK? I try to be careful, but sometimes that happens even to me :o)

message 193: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I'll be updating my spreadsheet also and comparing occasionally. We'll keep each other accurate!

Thanks for all you do Sonia. We would always let you be part of team Mango Tango!!! :)

message 194: by Barb (new)

Barb ~Mariee~ wrote: "Thanks Guys, it says we have read 23 so far. I think we are doing very well. Go Team Mango Tango *Mariee shakes her pom-poms Cheerleader style*"

I think we're still missing a team member or two as well, aren't we? That can make a difference too!

message 195: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I think we now have everyone, Barb!!

message 196: by Sonia (new)

Mango Tango is complete Barb. You can do your fruit dance :o)

message 197: by Barb (new)

Barb Oh trust me, you don't want me to dance LOL But I'll gladly shake my pompoms -- acquired only by attending games when they were being distributed LOL -- in celebration :)

message 198: by Barb (new)

Barb Ruh-roh .. looks like LisaKay has something potentially dastardly up her sleeve! Check this out: Challenge

message 199: by Barb (new)

Barb And I like this idea from one of the purple team's thread (can you tell I've been reconnoitering this afternoon? LOL). Since we have smaller teams this time around, this could be a fun way to get to know each other a little better :)

One of us asks a question (like, who is your favorite author?). The first person to see it answers that question, then asks another question. The 'game' continues until we get tired of answering or run out of questions :)
