Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments 21 pages so far, so I guess reading after 1am is working for me with this incentive!

message 1553: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Hahaha As long as you get some rest!

message 1554: by Diane L (new)

Diane L Finished a book in progress: Survival in Auschwitz by Primo Levi, 101 pages of it were read after the start of the contest.

I have another I'll try to finish this evening. Then the weekend is rather a lost cause to reading so I'll be hitting the books hard again come Monday.

message 1555: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Finished Carrie for task one. :)

message 1556: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Guess who is now in fourth place? :)

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Uh-oh! I better finish this book soon, hehe. I keep stopping to post here and to do laundry!

message 1558: by Barb (new)

Barb I finished Stargazey Point, my first book for ghost, but can only contribute 107 pages from this book to today's total. Never fear, though, I've got pages from other books that will count :)

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Hello, my little Mangoes!

I haven't been stalking the threads much lately so I figured I was overdue to come pester you!

A spooky little picture to go along with the spirit of the RaT and hunt, for you!

message 1560: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments It's never pestering... You're visiting your old team A friends Steven and Barb! And your new Mango friends! :)

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Tee hee hee, I like to call it pestering because I try to keep you all distracted from your reading!

Somehow, I don't think I succeed at that for very long, though!

message 1562: by Barb (new)

Barb Well, you can *try :)

message 1563: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments I'm awake again! And reading... Like a banshee :D

Congrats on Steven for finishing Carrie so quick!

message 1564: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments :) I'm working on Cuckoo's Calling now, but honestly my brain is frazzled from an awful week! I think I tore through Carrie because I wanted to massacre people with my mind this week too hahahaha

message 1565: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Are you going to go see the new movie of Carrie, Steven?

message 1566: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Oh poor thing. It's the weekend for you now, though? Right? Or at least Friday night.

message 1567: by Barb (new)

Barb Steven wrote: ":) I'm working on Cuckoo's Calling now"

Can't wait to hear your thoughts when you finish that one!

message 1568: by Barb (new)

Barb Lisa Kay wrote: "Are you going to go see the new movie of Carrie, Steven?"

*shudders* I was 'forced' to watch the original Carrie ages ago, when it first came out, and I will never forgive the people responsible for that. I *still get squirrelly (more than usual?) when I think about that movie!

message 1569: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Lisa Kay, I really want to!!!! It looks very good! :)

Nicole, it is my weekend, thank goodness!!!

Barb, I love horror movies but you don't... So I can't imagine you liking Carrie at all, as its pretty creepy and quite realistic beyond the telekinesis.

message 1570: by Barb (new)

Barb Steven wrote: "I love horror movies but you don't... So I can't imagine you liking Carrie at all, as its pretty creepy and quite realistic beyond the telekinesis."

I don't even want to think about how much gorier the new version of the movie will be! *shudders again*

message 1571: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Haha well it can't be too much worse than the original. Yikes that was a lot of blood!

message 1572: by Barb (new)

Barb *fingers in ears* la la la la la, I can't HEARRRRRRRR you! :)

message 1573: by Diane L (new)

Diane L I was just over on the Event 1 tracking thread to record a book and saw Nancy's entry there. She has already read 2 books and over 500 pages today! Wow! Way to rock the read-a-thon!

message 1574: by Barb (new)

Barb I'm attempting to finish some of the books I had already in progress, but I keep getting distracted :(

message 1575: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments I have been meaning to read more, but it keep getting distracted on here by writing reviews and commenting to other peoples' threads :)

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments I'm making my way through W is for Wasted (Kinsey Millhone #23) by Sue Grafton but I keep getting distracted by snooping around GR threads!

message 1577: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Barb wrote: "*fingers in ears* la la la la la, I can't HEARRRRRRRR you! :)"

LMBO!

Actually, I didn't see it until I was an adult, and then on the small screen. Talk about bullying a poor girl.

message 1578: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Yeah that was awful of them, LK. And her abusive mother! Ugh!

I haven't read as much today as I wanted, but I have standing Fun Friday plans with friends. And I finished Carrie (just the final 48 pages) and some of Cuckoo's Calling but not as much as I wanted too. Sigh.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Gosh darn it, Fun Friday plans are getting in the way of your reading, Steven! What did you do for FF?

I know, I spent some time playing dice games with the boy and the husband..sheesh, that was valuable reading time, don't they know? LOL!

That's okay, that's what bedtime is for! Catching up on what I missed out on earlier, hehehe. HOpe I make it more than 5 pages before crashing.

message 1580: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments We watch that week's Glee and Scandal every Friday as a group and cook dinner, and usually either play board games or watch a cheesy horror flick after.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Steven wrote: "We watch that week's Glee and Scandal every Friday as a group and cook dinner, and usually either play board games or watch a cheesy horror flick after."

Sounds like fun!

Barb ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) wrote: "I'm making my way through W is for Wasted (Kinsey Millhone #23) by Sue Grafton but I keep getting distracted by snooping around GR threads!"

Oh Teresa, just ignore GR and finish the book! I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked that one. After the last few books, I wasn't sure how this one would go :)

Barb ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) wrote: "I spent some time playing dice games with the boy and the husband..sheesh, that was valuable reading time, don't they know? LOL!"

I'm lucky (I guess? LOL) Hubby won't be home this weekend, and daughter is just as determined to read the weekend away as I am :)

message 1584: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Oh Steven, can I join you guys on a Friday? I live both of those shows!

message 1585: by Karla (new)

Karla I love Glee, too. Kurt's dad is my favorite character. I suppose it is kinda weird, since he isn't a main character, but I love how supportive he is of his son!

Nicole, Steven, who is your favorite character?

message 1586: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Santana for me, hands down, but Kurt's dad comes close!

I stayed up half the night reading! I finally crashed somewhere around page 300, only to wake up and read another 80 pages early this morning, lol. I'm reading now, between posts here and doing some cleaning. I'm finishing the book today. I really like it! I love how much we are in Kinsey's head in this book.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Nicole wrote: "Santana for me, hands down, but Kurt's dad comes close!"

I haven't watched Glee since season 2 but I've always liked Kurt's dad. I'll probably catch up with the show on Netflix streaming this year.

message 1589: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I love Burt as well!!! :)

My two favorites are Santana and Blaine. They're both gorgeous and talented. Blaine is dreamy haha. And it helps that his on screen brother is played by.... Matt Bomer!!

Whoa! I forgot about him being on Glee. How frequently does he appear?? Haha, I bet you couldn't resist a Blaine/Bomer sandwich, eh? ;)

message 1591: by Karla (new)

Karla I love Blaine! But, half the time I don't like Santana.

message 1592: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Yeah she can be awful... but I love her voice when she sings!!!

message 1593: by Karla (new)

Karla Steven wrote: "Yeah she can be awful... but I love her voice when she sings!!!"

Oh, yes, she has a beautiful voice!

message 1594: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Her later show character arc is amazing as well!

message 1595: by Karla (new)

Karla I haven't started watching this season of Glee yet. I watch it with my mom and sister and we all are having a bit of trouble with Fin's (Cory something's) death. He was my age! It's sad.

message 1596: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Oh I know. So sad. This will be Glees last season cause of it too.

message 1597: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Next week's episode is going to be hard. I almost cried at the teaser and while I liked Corey, I didn't even really care for his character as much anymore. But I am so sad!!

Nicole, it was renewed for two seasons at last renewal in Mayish/Juneish and there has been no mention of canceling or shortening it, so as of now we will be going through season six.

message 1598: by Barb (new)

Barb I just finished another book for both the Banshee and the Treasure Hunt parts of this RaT. I've got three of the five letters done for our 5th category spell-it-out :)

I've got to read like ... well, like a banshee? this weekend, because the first few days next week are rather busy, and hubby will be home next weekend, so I don't know how much time I'll get to read then.

I think we're waiting to watch all three episodes together because of how sad it is.
