Steven, I was wondering if I should lower my goal cause with me read 27 books with a goal of 60, I'm not sure if I can read that many book while I'm in school.

message 1303: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments That's up to you, Nancy. If you feel like you need to, then do so. You've read a ton since you've been back, so you'll have to guess what you feel you'll be able to read and adjust accordingly!

message 1304: by Karla (new)

Karla Lisa, I hope you feel better soon!

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments Thanks everyone. I am slowly on the mend and managed to finish a book today, so yay. I am rarely sick and as my dear husband commented yesterday, "you don't do sick, very well..." I think he meant I was cranky!

message 1306: by Barb (new)

Barb Lisa, wanted to let you know that I'm working on puzzle 123 (the word search), so you can skip that one if you'd like :)

Thanks Barb. I much prefer the word wheels and Spot the differences so it is appreciated.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments Getting there... Thanks Steven.

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments Oh no, Steven... I had already sent in #122, knowing how much you love the Romeo and Juliet puzzles...

message 1311: by [deleted user] (new)

I have read two book this week. They are: Against Medical Advice One Family's Struggle with an Agonizing Medical Mystery by James Patterson and The Dangerous Days of Daniel X (Daniel X, #1) by James Patterson . Couldn't put those books down and Against Medical Advice One Family's Struggle with an Agonizing Medical Mystery by James Patterson was hard for me to read this 5 year old go threw torette's and how he struggled with it. Over all, a good book.

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I just finished Divergent. I loved it!!!

message 1313: by Barb (new)

Barb That's another one that's on my TBR list *sigh* Some day ...

message 1314: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments It is worth the read. If only book two wasn't crazy requested... 52 people in front of me on the waiting list. I might break down and pay the $6.99 on Amazon!

message 1315: by Jane (new)

Jane | 705 comments I liked Divergent but I am sometime hopeless at continuing series. I read Divergent 27th of May last year and obviously meant to continue the series right away as I bought Insurgent the same day but I just never got around to it.
I need to send it to the top of my TBR list, but the list is soooooooooo long. lol

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Yes we do. Bookaholics we are.

2000+ books on my to be read, and for every one that comes off, 2 or 3 more get added

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6399 comments I just sent in the final Romeo and Juliet #125 puzzle.

message 1319: by Barb (new)

Barb I've been weeding out my TBR list, so my total might actually go *down this month, for a change! But yes, I keep adding books too, thanks to GR LOL

message 1320: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Thanks, Lisa!

I test bunnied the LOTR cryptogram and solved it and worked out the mistakes, so we shouldn't have to do that one.

Barb, I've been trying. I got through 24 pages out of over 100 lol!

message 1321: by Barb (new)

Barb I went through two pages (set to 100 books/page) out of 17 last night, but I've still got a long way to go LOL I'm also adding genre info to the books I added to GR wayyyyy back when, so I'll apologize now for spamming everyone's GR feeds :)

Barb Is there going to be an 'official' thread somewhere to report our team's progress to the mods for our September challenge? Or are we not part of that, since we're not doing their version?

And Steven, do you know whether or not we'll qualify for the cupcakes etc. from any September puzzles/games? Or are we left out of that because we're doing our own thing?

Any Team may do cupcakes whether or not they join the monthly challenge.

FYI, the "Mango Tango Option" has now become an 'official' part of the September Challenge.

message 1324: by Barb (new)

Barb I saw that we're an option for September, that's pretty cool :) And thanks for answering my question about the cupcakes!

Will there be a reporting thread somewhere?

message 1326: by Barb (new)

Barb Thanks :) I've bookmarked it for future reference!

message 1327: by Barb (last edited Sep 01, 2013 03:33PM) (new)

Barb OK team, we're still in 8th place, but we're only FOUR BOOKS behind team #7. We can do it, right? And there's only 13 books between us and the FIFTH place team! Wouldn't it be great to see Mango Tango on the list of the top five teams? :)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments I'm reading faster and faster all the time thanks to you guys! I'll do my best. In the middle of four books at the moment ;)

message 1333: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I am too, Nicole, reading faster/more I mean.

Just on one right now... though I might start a second tomorrow.

message 1334: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, going to get a new e-reader this month. My nook charger is completely dead. it won't charge anymore so probably will get a Nook HD+

message 1335: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Ooooh, sorry about the charger but YAY for a new Nook!! ;)

Steven wrote: "Ooooh, sorry about the charger but YAY for a new Nook!! ;)"

Yea. I'm excited to getting a new Nook. I debated against the HD or HD+, but after reading everything, I think I will get the HD+.

message 1337: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I did the same with my Kindle, and went with the Fire HD 7 over the regular Fire! :)

message 1338: by [deleted user] (new)

It's a little bit more expensive then the HD but it has a bigger GB then the HD.

Which Nook do you have now? I've got the Simple Touch and love it for its simplicity, but I also have a Kindle Fire so I don't need the tablet-like features on both devices.

I have the Nook Color but its so old that they don't carry the replacement for the charger or carry it at all and it will be 2 years old on Christmas so I believe it's time to upgrade.

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I'm excited for you! Upgrades are fun :D

I worry about that with my Simple Touch, but I discovered (by accident! LOL) that the Kindle charger AND my phone charger work with the Nook too, so for now, I don't think that will be too much of a problem.

And yes, upgrades *are fun! I hope you like your new toy when you get it :)

 48 Hour<br />Puzzle Crazy

Cool Text: Logo and Graphics Generator

We've had the addition of a few new Teams,
Who are also sharing our TTRC dreams.

It only seems fair they should get a chance,
at all those puzzles that hold you, as well as entrance.

But I don't want to leave you out of the fun,
so you'll get an opportunity, too, at those NOT done.

I'll give extra hours to Banana Mania, Forest Green, and Pewter & Cadet Blue,
who also has a lot of members who are new, too.

Still, all the rest of you are granted forty-eight.
“Rev Your Engines!” to get a running start at the gate.

I've given you some important links below.
Remember, there are more links in Post #1, to the puzzles, you know?

Okay, 48 hours to you, and 72 hours for the Teams that are new.
I'm excited! Let me see how many cupcakes you can accrue.

Oh! By the way, your time starts now!
Stop reading this and get working. Holy Cow!

Here is where to post!

Cupcake Puzzle Crazy 48 Hour End for Old Teams

Cupcake Puzzle Crazy 72 Hour End for New Teams

Captain Cupcake's World of Puzzles & Cupcakes - All Puzzles & Cupcakes since the beginning of Round II. Make-up Cupcakes will be put here, until we can transfer them to the individual months. Links to puzzles are also at the top of each column on the spreadsheet.

August Puzzles for Cupcakes

June/July Puzzles for Cupcakes

May Puzzles for Cupcakes

message 1345: by Barb (new)

Barb I looked at the chart of cupcakes earned, and it looks like our team missed puzzles 101 and 108 -- both sliders. I could have sworn I saw someone from MT post #101, but I guess not. I'll see if I can do them when I get home from work today, but if anyone else wants to work on them in the meantime, feel free!

message 1346: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments We also missed 74, 77, and 96. :)

message 1347: by Barb (new)

Barb Those weren't in August, were they? Are we allowed to make up ALL the puzzles we missed, or only those from August?
