Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Well, I love Clara, and I'm interested in seeing her reaction to the new doctor, considering she's a massive flirt. I don't think she had real romantic interest, just a flirty nature.

Also, there really isn't any rhyme or reason to his age when regenerating. He's not Benjamin Button! :)

Also, they can write in anything they want for the regeneration issue. They don't mind changing stuff and retconning things when they need to! :p

message 1202: by Barb (new)

Barb I just checked the most recent team standings, and we're still holding on to 9th place! We're only 15 books behind the 8th place team, so if we all put our minds to it, maybe we can move up one spot by next week? LOL

message 1203: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I'm trying! :) we can do it!!!

message 1204: by Barb (new)

Barb I'm reading as much as I can -- without quitting my job LOL

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6400 comments I'm reading my socks off as well. Just finished Virgin Widow England's Forgotten Queen by Anne O'Brien which was over 600 pages.

Hopefully those puzzle points will help too... I've finished three now and will do a few more this week, time permitting.

Go Mango Tango!

message 1206: by Diane L (new)

Diane L I'm reading two more books recommended to me by the 10 year olds in my Sunday School class. I'll post links to them here. Did the mods ever decide what to do about children's books? These would be on the order of Old Yeller or a Nancy Drew for reading difficulty. Both are about 190 pages.

Skeleton Creek
Wild Life

message 1207: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Evana, as long as they are actual books (not mostly pictures) then they count as long as the pages are over 160.

message 1208: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments I've finished two books in the last few days, and am hoping to finish a third either tomorrow or the next day ;)

Yay, nearly 8th place :D:D

message 1209: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Good work, Nicole! Keep tearing through them :D

message 1210: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished another book: Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth . I loved this book. I could not put it down.

message 1211: by Diane L (last edited Aug 12, 2013 08:23PM) (new)

Diane L I finished Double Shot (A Goldy Bear Culinary Mystery, #12) by Diane Mott Davidson Double Shot by Diane Mott Davidson, 12 Aug, 310 pages.

I don't see an easy way to fit it into the August challenge. Perhaps I'll have time to go through loads of people's shelves tomorrow. Is there an easier way to do that than going to each person's profile, then their bookshelves and then searching for the title? (I do at least use the search box once I'm there instead of paging through the shelves.)

message 1212: by Karla (new)

Karla I should have brought more books with me on vacation. Besides M+O 4EVR(which I just claimed for the challenge), I have one more book left to read. I have been working on Encyclopedia of Serial Killers by Brian Lane for months now, the title should explain why.

Don't forget Shadow and Bone Nicole! It exceeded my expectations :)

message 1216: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments I wasn't able to get a copy of it, sadly, otherwise I would have been right there in the group read! :(

Oh what a shame. I ended up buying it on my kindle as I ran out of time to get to the library! Ah well - luckily I really enjoyed it!

message 1218: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments It looked really great. I'll definitely look at grabbing it some time in the future, just not in time for this BR sadly.

message 1219: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Nice reading everyone!

Nancy, glad you enjoyed it so much. I bought it on the Kindle sale last month for cheap and plan on reading it soon!

Steven - and any other Neil Gaiman fans (or budding fans), we have started a Neil Gaiman buddy read challenge here
:D

message 1222: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Awesome, Karen! I'll see which books I can read with the group. I've already read a few of his books on the list!

message 1223: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I thought you were a re-reader :P

message 1224: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I am... but if they won't count for Tower Teams because it hasn't been over a year...........

message 1225: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments True.
You know... the TT will not last forever :P

message 1226: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments True, but I can wait until after to do rereads :)

message 1227: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I'm going to re-read the Kate Daniels series and the only one that will count to the TTRC will be Magic Bites. All the others were read last December.

message 1228: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments *sigh*... have you seen my to-read list? I am trying to knock stuff off that list!!!! X)

message 1229: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments LOL.

I'm just teasing luv.

message 1230: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I know... the problem is, I have a serious re-reading problem... I let it eat up my reading time and I never get to other things that could be just as awesome!!! :D

message 1231: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments For example, how will I ever get to Magic Bites if I keep rereading other things? Or the Harper Connelly books? :D

message 1232: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Ooooohhhh the Harper Connelly... I love those!

message 1233: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Sonia wrote: "Ooooohhhh the Harper Connelly... I love those!"

I know... you have recommended those to me in addition to the Magic Bites ones... :D

message 1234: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Is something I can see myself doing :o)

message 1235: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments May I just say, my friends, that this conversation was a joy to read. I so love being around like minded people :D

Oooh, I read Grave Sight ages ago and have been meaning to read the second one in the series ever since.

....... BR?

message 1236: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I'll have to read the first, but I'm sure Sonia would join hehe

message 1237: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments *is a dirty horrible influence :D*

message 1238: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Hehe!

message 1239: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments I would totally join. You know the pile of my TBR? Is not getting smaller with the re-reads' but I can't say no....
So one a month? Staring Grave Sight (Harper Connelly, #1) by Charlaine Harris in September or October?

message 1240: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Let me make sure my copy doesn't have terrible formatting issues and is readable. If it isn't ill check my library. If I can get it, totally on board with ya. :)

message 1241: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Cool. I'll try to find the ebook version, to re-read them in a different format, if not I'll do them on audio again.

message 1242: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments I'm good to go whenever you guys are, but I'll probably give the first one a miss since I read it recently. If we go with the second one a month after, I am two thumbs up!

message 1243: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Sounds like a plan! Hehe

message 1244: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Sure Nicole, it looks good to me. I read them all in 2009, so a re-read from all sounds good, and it can be used for both the TTRC and decades challenge!

message 1245: by [deleted user] (new)

Finished another book today. Second Honeymoon (Honeymoon, #2) by James Patterson by James Patterson. I just couldn't put it down. Loved the book.

message 1246: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments If it counts for any of the categories make sure to post it in the August challenge thread!

message 1247: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm not doing the August challenge. I'm just reading til I start college in the Fall on Monday.
