Anyone else envisioning Pepe Lepew while reading that post? LOL"

lol!

And I found we had a massive influx of macaroons after masterchef a few years ago. You can now buy them at any cafe or patisserie, (even McDonalds!!) but they are really expensive (about $3 each!)
Teresa ; they are kind of like gooey meringue with cream inside. Delicious and sweet ;)

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6400 comments Macaroons thanks to Masterchef Australia have even reached out shores. There is even a shop that flies them in from France everyday... they are delicious, the best ones just dissolve in your mouth with a burst of flavor. Mmmmm.

And you can make CHOCOLATES from them! Ah! I want to make little tardis chockies for my son next Easter! :D

Unfortunately they don't ship to Aus, but I'm sure if I google enough I can find them elsewhere ;)

message 1107: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments You can ship them to me and I'll ship them to ya! ;p

Yeah sure you would let them out of your grasp....lol!
I do have a tardis teapot and also some t-shirts which I got from this site. Strange there is a restriction on this!

Barb Time Lord Steven wrote: "Oh dear god I want those ice cube trays!"

That website has ice cube trays in lots of fun shapes: the π sign, Han Solo in carbonite, Batman, the Millenium Falcon, R2D2, Portal 2, gummy bears, and even a Death Star :)

It is an amazing site Barb. Something for everyone! lol

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Okay, so next time I go anywhere that might have a fancy/French bakery/pastries, I'm trying at least one macaroon!

Love those ice cube trays!! Oh man, chocolates in those shapes would be so awesome.

They have other shapes? I'm not sure why I've never seen their ice cube trays before! I love that site.

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 775 comments Finished another book today Iced (Dani O'Malley, #1), karen marie moning...3*s...it was just ok for me...I dont know if it wasnt what I wanted to read or if it had been too long since the last book, but I was completely lost pretty much throughout the book - didnt really like it much at all.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments Going away for a few days. I shall miss my little fruity tooties! It's not a mango but hey, the color is close enough:

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 775 comments I finished another book today Cerulean Sins, laurell k hamilton 07.26 1*...I absolutely hated this book so much that Im contemplating not finishing/continuing on with the series...life is too short to read a book you dislike intensely :(

message 1117: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Yeah don't read if you don't like!

message 1118: by Barb (new)

Barb Sallie(Shuga) wrote: "life is too short to read a book you dislike intensely :( "

So very true! The days when I *had to read a book are LONG past LOL Now, if a book doesn't 'hook' me in the first 50ish pages, I put it aside and move on -- unless it's a book I know will take a bit longer to get into!

message 1119: by Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (new)

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 775 comments Hi finished another book today Destined, pc cast...2*s...once again I picked a real Dud....I am so hoping that my next book will much more to my liking :( 2 books in a row that were not to my liking is not a record I would like to continue lol

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I hope your next book is AMAZING to make up for the last two! :)

message 1121: by Barb (new)

Barb Hate when that happens, Sallie!

message 1122: by [deleted user] (new)

Just checking in. Haven't had a chance to read much as I got busy with school and now, I'm getting busy with packing. Hopefully, I can start reading again once the move is done.

Sallie(GeorgiaGirl) (shuga) | 775 comments I finished Espresso Shot by Cleo Coyle today 07.28 4*s definitely a much better read than the last 2 books I have read in the past few days...thank goodness I was afraid I was stuck in "reading nightmare" lol

message 1127: by Barb (new)

Barb I like that series a lot, Sallie, I'm glad you enjoyed this one more than your last two books :)

message 1128: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Thank goodness you read one you felt didn't waste your time!!! :)

Glad you enjoyed it AND broke your "slump."

message 1129: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments Have just finished Heartless and, to be honest, it felt a bit lacklustre. It was another one of those books where I really felt the story began for me in the final pages. Like it was a filler for the fifth and final book :/

message 1130: by Monsieur Mango (new)

Monsieur Mango Tango (mangotangoNBRC) | 11 comments So sorry you felt like your book was le filler, Nicole.

Je deteste when that happens!

message 1131: by Monsieur Mango (new)

Monsieur Mango Tango (mangotangoNBRC) | 11 comments The thread for the August reading challenge is now unlocked!

**Go claim a spot if you're reading something that will fall into one of the specific categories that
have limited slots(genre challenge, SPELL IT OUT, or Color Cover!)**

Please remember: You DO NOT have to claim a spot for ANY of the NON-specific-limit
categories (ally shelves, frenemy shelves, new to you authors, Goodreads choice, or Made into
TV/Movies) but ONLY for the previously listed categories with specific limitations.

It is still okay to "claim" a spot in a category where it isn't necessary, to let moi know what vous
are reading! ;)

***Make sure you read through the first post one more time, all the way through, as another
update had to be made (as my previous edits were lost to the punch bowl and disappeared!) to
explain these claiming rules!***
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You will find the thread for the challenge here:
August Challenge - Mod's Summer Vacation!

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 226 comments I haven't posted it to all the teams because I didn't want to be a nuisance but the thought did occur. It is a really good challenge. I may be biased, hehe!

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments I'm glad you like it, Teresa. I'm pretty proud of it. ☺

message 1138: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments if you need some "mangoish" cover may I tempt you all with the brand new Magic Rises (Kate Daniels #6) by Ilona Andrews ? I'm just at chapter 5 but the book is sooooooooooooooo promising.

Kate Daniels at her best!

message 1139: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Ah, but I'd have to go all the way back to book one first!! :P

message 1140: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Yes, you do, sorry.

This series is one of my top 3 favorites. Although the first book is nothing special, the evolution is simply amazing.

From what I've been reading on the various discussion group threads, I believe this one is the best so far.

message 1141: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments I think I'd seen someone (maybe you?) raving about it before, and I think I added it to my to-read previously?

message 1142: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments well, I would totally rave about it, so the odds are in my favor :o)

message 1143: by Steven (new)

Steven (gallifreyan1218) | 5272 comments Hehehe! :)

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6400 comments Preaching to the choir Sonia.(Book reading Harpie, Love it!) I've snapped it up for our challenge for the paranormal genre - I'm just waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I agree, the first book was a bit confusing re the world building but once you got in to it, an addictive read. Curran, sigh.

Magic Rises (Kate Daniels #6) by Ilona Andrews

message 1145: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Field (nicolefield) | 1778 comments I've heard so many amazing things about this series. Maybe it's another book I need to add to my September book list. Geez, I never got through so many books before there was you guys.

*big group hugs*

Lisa - (Aussie Girl) | 6400 comments Yes, we should be aka "Enablers Anonymous"!

message 1147: by Barb (last edited Jul 31, 2013 08:33PM) (new)

Barb Reading Enablers Anonymous? Otherwise, who knows what we'd be enabling each other to do?? :P

Nope, we need to add a D at the end of that, so our acronym would spell out READ!

You are a genius, Barb! Unfortunately, I am not because I can't think of a good word for that D.
