Well, my Nook Color as decided to quit after having it for a year. It started to act up and now i can't even do anything to it. So, now i will have to save money for a new one possible.

Well, I don't know. I can't turn it off or anything. My dad is on his way to see what we can do.
And i have no warranty on it so they probably won't be able to do anything for it

Yea, I know. If i do need a new one, I just gotta figure out if i want to stay with B&N or go with Amazon.

On my partner's Google Nexus tablet, it got to less than 10% and then had TONS of issues. I had to charge it for well over 24 hours before it would start working again. Then it works as normal -- and now he NEVER lets it get that low again.

PS -- hold it down that long and IGNORE the "do you want to shutdown" thing that might pop up.

Battery was where it was before it started acting up. I just don't know why it started acting up.

Well, now, i'm going to keep an eye on it more since that was the first time it did that.
Well, you can always read on your lunch break
What do you think of Gillian Flynn? I recently got her
book for a buck and I never tried her before.

Well, hopefully, I will like it since it will be my first book by her.

I'll be reading it soon.

I gave it 5-stars only because of the fact that months later, I still think about things that happened.
I haven't read any of her others but hope to eventually.

I was really getting tired of seeing Alice last night!

I have a Nook Simple Touch and a Kindle Fire. I never thought I'd say this, but I really prefer the Kindle. I don't use the tablet features of the reader very often, but it's nice to know they're there if I "need" them :)
I think the biggest reason I prefer the Kindle is that there are a lot more free books for the Kindle than the Nook, although most are by indie authors, so don't expect authors you've heard of before :) In addition, if you're an Amazon Prime member, you can borrow from the Kindle lending library, again for free. Those tend to be better known books.

Glad you got it working again :) Steven: much more than just a team captain! LOL

If you were 'tagging' books as read last night, please make sure they are on your designated Tower Teams Reading Challenge shelf. Since Alice (the girl in the chair that appears when the system is over capacity) kept appearing, we are finding a lot of books didn't get 'tagged.'
The best way is to compare your main GRs challenge (if you've joined) with your "view books" page of your Team's Home Page Challenge.

had
to talk about it.
I gave it 5-stars..."
I've heard of this book before. Actually, it's the only book I've heard of by this author.
Your quick analysis of it made me think I should actually sit down and get around to reading it.
You know, somewhere in an order amongst the rest of my TBR pile >.<

Yes, I am shamelessly publiciting the discussion :)
I would gladly buddy read Gone Girl with you but August is a bit crowdy for me, so I'll have to content with discussing the book later :)

I finished City of Bones early and completely forgot to go back to the thread now.

August is nearly upon us, and we will have a new challenge to start when it arrives.
The rules for le Mango Tango Mod's Summer Vacation challenge are HERE., so go read them VERY CAREFULLY and MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THEM, s'il vous plaît. Le skimming is frowned upon!
Then, once you have done so, go to the August Challenge Check-In and let moi know that you have read les instructions for the August challenge... or ask any questions you might have there as well.
Merci! Get excited! LE FUN IS ABOUT TO START! :D
The thread will be opened for claiming spots on the 30th or the 31st of July.

I second that! I was sitting here giggling as I read that post, hehe.
Just for you, Monsieur Mango:

(they are macaroons, right?)

Anyone else envisioning Pepe Lepew while reading that post? LOL

(they are macaroons, right?)"
Yep! I've never eaten one, mainly because I just don't see them around (and will not attempt to make them since I don't know how they should taste/feel). I like meringue and I think that's what the two "cookies" are. I could be completely wrong, though. I should research that.
