SHERYL SCARBOROUGH, an award-winning writer for children’s television, is the author of To Catch A Killer and To Right The Wrongs, a YA mystery series with Tor Teen. The appearance of a habitual Peeping Tom at her home when she was twelve, sparked an obsession with forensics. After each visit, Sheryl diligently photographed his footprints and collected the candy wrappers he left behind. Unfortunately, he was never caught. But the desire to use evidence to solve a great mystery was sparked inside Scarborough all the same. She holds an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts and lives with her husband and writer-cats in Washington state, across the river from Portland, OR.

To Catch a Killer is a One Book, One School Selection!

Exciting news! My young adult forensic mystery To Catch a Killer (Erin Blake series, #1) was nominated by the New Hampshire school community for their prestigious One School, One Book program. This means that over 500 students read my book together as a part of their school programming and met my heroine, Erin Blake! Continue reading → Read more of this blog post »

“It’s okay that you like him,” Spam says. “Serial killers are really popular. They get prison married and everything.”
Sheryl Scarborough, To Catch a Killer

“If you want to spot a liar, just remember that concealing the truth is like swallowing a slow-acting poison. It might take a while, but it will get them in the end. —VICTOR FLEMMING I”
Sheryl Scarborough, To Catch a Killer

“Fifty percent of human DNA is identical to the DNA of a banana. —”
Sheryl Scarborough, To Catch a Killer

Topics Mentioning This Author

“Her face was a grimace of surprised pain as she slid unconscious down the back of the tub and under the water.
I held her under for several minutes after the blow, watching as the water went pink, then red, and finally crimson with blood.”
Jared S. Anderson, Beautiful Monster

“They want to be stimulated. They want to read something that can get under their skin and hang out there for a while.”
Alistair Cross

“I think horror, when done well, is one of the most direct and honest ways to get to the core of the human experience because terror reduces all of us to our most authentic forms.”
Alistair Cross

“.” I watched her sip at the drink some more. She was strong, healthy, but also petite enough that I was certain I could overpower her. I’d made the right decision not to tranquilize her, I thought. Slipping some powerful barbiturate into a mixed drink wasn’t something I was above, but it always felt like such a lost opportunity. I liked the fight, the tightening and clenching of a woman’s body as she writhed for freedom. I felt the slow swelling of arousal between my legs and made no effort to disguise it.”
Alistair Cross, Beautiful Monster

“Only I was capable of saving her now, and that, as far as anyone could argue, may have made me worse than all the devils and the demons, but it also, more accurately, made me better than all the angels and gods.”
Jared S. Anderson, Beautiful Monster
