I've never read this, but I have to be honest, I hated the movie. Cue every man in America booing me. Did you see the movie?
FFS....BOB HAD BITCH TITS. Why was that so hard to get through? 3 friggin posts to get out one line from a movie without it glitching. I still say bitch tits because of that movie. It's funnier than moobs.
Yes, I saw the movie years ago and liked it but who knows how I'd feel now.
I just had a hard time with the scene where Brad Pitt and Edward Norton were (view spoiler) It's probably been 10 years or so since I've seen it, who knows, my tastes have changed so much, maybe I'd get it better now.
Stacia, I recently read an old interview with Chuck Palahniuk where he said that 'Fight Club' was essentially 'The Great Gatsby' rewritten. Here is the quote:
"Really, what I was writing was just The Great Gatsby updated a little. It was "apostolic" fiction - where a surviving apostle tells the story of his hero."
Just an interesting bit of trivia while you read :)
Sadly, I need to put this back on the shelf for March and maybe try again in April. I had no real time to read over the weekend and I have too many scheduled reads over the next couple of weeks to be able to fit this in now. :(
Kristin, that is strange, but interesting.
Have you read Survivor? That's my favorite Palahniuk novel. He used to be my favorite author, is work has really taken a strange turn to me. I haven't enjoyed anything he's written since Haunted (2005). I keep reading (and hating) everything he puts out though.

It wasn't the same, but the movie overall...when I was watching it, I would know when certain lines or scenes were coming and they hit the mark pretty much every time.

This was my first novel by him, but I'd be interested in reading others now.

I liked both, which was pretty cool. I'd watched the movie years ago but only remember parts of it. It was fun to read the book then watch the movie right afterward and compare.
