Non-YA and I'm not sure if the series is finished. I've only read this one and haven't been able to get a hold of the next yet. While it's not aimed YA, the protagonist is a teenager and there isn't anything that would be inappropriate for a YA audience. You should also check out Elantris by him. He also wrote The Rithmatist, which you've got marked to read. I thought Rithmatist was okay, but the other two are excellent.

Still in progress, aimed at adults. I read it in eighth grade, and I think it works okay for a YA audience. However, it's been something like three years since the second book, and the third still hasn't been published. Maybe wait until they actually release a publication date?

A time traveling series aimed at adults, but appropriate for a YA audience. Each book stands completely by itself (except for All Clear and Blackout). To Say Nothing takes place mainly the Victorian era England, with bits of the 2050s and WW2. There's also The Doomsday Book, which is mainly in 13th century England, and Blackout, which is mainly in WW2 England. To Say Nothing is by far the funniest of them, and Doomsday by far the most heart-wrenching.

Not aimed at a YA audience, probably because while a sixteen year old boy is one of the protagonists, the other is his mother. It's steampunk, set in 1880s Seattle with zombies. So, it's kinda a weird mixture of fantasy, dystopian, and historical fiction. It works for YA audiences, and it is an unfinished series composed of stand alone stories.
