I've been writing stories since the age of eleven. It's a fun experience to be able to escape everyday life and create characters, a different world, etc. I also love to draw (been creating comic strips since the age of eight).
I've tried my hand in everyday--novels, short stories, graphic novels, and screenplays. I took Creative Writing classes in the 7th and 12th grade, but at West Virginia University I majored in Accounting. Math will always be my favorite subject.
I absolutely, positively love to read! Since I brought my Kindle on Christmas, it's been even more addicting. I don't have to wait for shipping nor wait until I have time to browse book shelves at the bookstore or library. Now it's as fast as a click of a button.
I'm a Creative Writing teacher, and this year 2012 I plan to join the West Virginia Writers Organization. There's a local writer's group that I joined recently. All these steps are being implemented because one day I hope to become a published author. Now, if only I could find the time to save money to visit a Writer's Conference LOL.
