to read:
I would really like to find some romance books that have a vibe or theme to them like these movies:
Romancing of the stone. Indiana Jones (any of the movies). The Lost City. Jungle Cruise.
There should be adventure in them and some kind of expedition or/aI would really like to find some romance books that have a vibe or theme to them like these movies:
Romancing of the stone. Indiana Jones (any of the movies). The Lost City. Jungle Cruise.
There should be adventure in them and some kind of expedition or/and quest/treasure hunt as well..... or something along those lines.
I DO want:
M+F couples. (mainly/primarily) But also M+M couples and F+F couples. Main characters that are 30+. A story that has a good balance between action/adventure and romance. Good world-building. Main characters that are not formulaic. (So diversity/inclusion)
I DON'T want:
Main characters under the age of 25. A story that is bogged down with superficial and shallow main characters that only/mainly think about each others looks/bodies and sex. “Clean” or Christian romance. Insta-lust or insta-love. Clichés. Mary Sue characters. Gary Stu characters.
Diversity and inclusion is something that is important to me on all levels…. Including in romance books and the romance genre… but also other fiction books/genres.
All different kinds of representation are really important and matter. (Size, age, abilities, ethnicity, race, sexuality etc. etc.)
So much more representation is needed in the romance genre but also better and positive representation... and sincere/genuine representation of diversity/inclusion.
Research is always a author's best friend! It makes for a better and more believable book/plot but also better and more believable characters.
If these things above ⬆️ are important to you or at least on your radar that is great… If not consider just following my reviews.
I have created 44 different lists on Goodreads Listopia.... Maybe take a look.🙂
