It was about a girl who was a half-breed, and she inherited wings from her father but they weren't useable due to her being half another species. She lives kind of close to a city, she lives in the woods near the city in a small home by herself. The love interest helps her fix things around the home, including patching her roof during a rain storm and building a fence. She also has a antagonistic/strained relationship with her father because he left her mother due to them not being mates, plus he now has a new family with his mate. She was also deceived before by a guy claiming to be her mate, so she doesn't believe the love interest right away when he claims to be her mate.
