I have a novel published April 11,2020, entitled ESCAPING THE WHALE. It features a protagonist who struggles with the legacy of her Jewish Holocaust suI have a novel published April 11,2020, entitled ESCAPING THE WHALE. It features a protagonist who struggles with the legacy of her Jewish Holocaust survivor family. As a child of survivors myself, I have always been fascinated by the issues facing this group of people. I have been a freelance writer, publishing fiction, nonfiction, and poetry in anthologies and literary journals, and I have taught English on the college and high school levels. I currently volunteer for the Phoenix Holocaust Association, giving talks on Holocaust-related books. ESCAPING THE WHALE will appeal to lovers of literature, of history, of psychology, and of the human ability to learn and evolve. My short story "Frau Professor," which was published in a literary journal in 2018, has been released as a Kindle single! It deals with a student from a small Christian town who has led a sheltered life coming in contact for the first time with a Holocaust survivor, and the emotions and thoughts this stirs up in her. Both of my published works address the impact of the Holocaust on later generations. I believe this topic applies to so many other situations we all face, despite our various backgrounds. ...more
