I enjoy sharing opinions about books I read, but I have no delusions that I'm a book critic - just a reader and book-lover who grew up in the US with my father's enormous library. He read and collected everything from 'serious' literature to cowboy Westerns, and I do, too.
I have a real soft spot for Aussie authors and seem to have become partial to Irish, Scottish, and UK authors as well. I love picture books for kids - start them young!
My reviews and star-ratings are based on how I would compare a book with similar books. I might give 5 stars to a mystery I enjoyed, but I wouldn't rank it with 5-star literary fiction. Purely subjective, I know. I wish there were a way to differentiate. And then, of course, I may change my mind later, and often do. 😊
