Some seriously great authors there, but pretty different from one another - I can't think of anything similar to both David Foster Wallace and Penelope Fitzgerald.
Re. DFW (as he's often abbreviated on here): Thomas Pynchon, or a lite option in Jennifer Egan's A Visit from the Goon Squad.
Sebald: Thomas Bernhard? (stylistic similarity/influence though Bernhard is angry where Sebald is melancholy and generous); Robert Macfarlane (British travel writer influenced by Sebald)
Penelope Fitzgerald: perhaps Barbara Pym

I've never read any Maxim Gorky and only know William Trevor from a couple of short stories I read over 15 years ago.
