I did! Did you? I thought the ending was a tad rushed and slightly anti-climactic, but otherwise the book was just wonderful.

I assume (view spoiler)[the houses had something to do with the Still Blue having everything they could ever want. Plus Aria did smack those guards with a log (I think, right?), so there's evidence of wood. Wooden houses? As for the crossing... yes. Agreed. I think the only problem with this book is that it kept building towards those main events - the confrontation with Sable, the crossing, etc. - but they weren't given as much time as you'd have expected. I actually would've liked a bit more at the end too - not an epilogue or anything - but the Crows and the Horns got along just fine after all that? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Yes --> "There was that one line about the Sable's men willingly not resisting afterwards, but I can't imagine that all of them would have been so easily accepting of the new situation." I think that was kind of glossed over with the idea of Aria's dad holding respect, but the respect he commands was just enough that the troops didn't question him taking Aria. I don't think we got to see more, and I have a hard time believing that 400+ people would be okay with such a sudden shift in power. Surely some people did not think Sable was psychotic? Surely he had some hold over others (besides fear)? But even asking these questions, I don't care too much because it was a great book :). Well, she kind of did kill him off, no? All that grief and near suicidal behavior. He's starting to crawl back but the end for him is still up for grabs.

I think I'd miss Aria and Roar the most. Kind of ironic actually since I initially wasn't a huge fan of Aria, but I think that's the mark of how skilled Rossi's writing is - she's got all those character arcs neatly aligned and Aria became this fierce leader who's very easy to believe in and relate to despite the futuristic setting. (view spoiler)[Mmm, I think it's between TtEN and this one for my favorite. This one only holds a bit more because Aria & Perry are together more here... I think. Gosh, I had a hard time because even though I'd read TtEN not so long ago, I still can't quite remember all the details. Were you having that problem? Was TtEN your favorite since Aria and Roar were together?

Hehe, have you read Roar & Liv? Maybe I ought to read that. I really like Roar and his character arc, but I'm not as attached to him as I am to Aria because he feels less familiar without a narrative. Are you going to end up reading Brooke? I was pretty impressed with her characterization too.

Hmm, I don't know. I added it to my list and I do think that she'd handle NA well, but I agree. Huge change in topic, and honestly I don't pay much attention to NA novels unless they're recommended by friends everywhere. Like Diana Peterfreund wrote One & Only or something recently - and everyone LOVED it - but I'd read the synopsis and wasn't sure it'd be for me... but then I read her other college series, Secret Society Girl, and loved that... So that's my long-winded way of saying IT'S UP TO YOU TO CONVINCE ME TO READ IT, SAM :).

Also I'm curious about what she'll write next besides the NA. If that's co-written, she might have time for another project... (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[True. Even though I was slightly confused, some of the minor characters I didn't wonder about and didn't have to wonder about because she'd clarified who they were from the start. Like Jupiter. You're right - series are hard to keep track of in that way. Well, I'm glad you still enjoyed this, even if it wasn't as much as TtEN!

I'm more likely to check out both novellas, but the longer I wait the more unlikely I will in the end. So much other stuff to read, and though I really like this series, I still don't get the feels from it like everyone else does.

I did like Unteachable. I liked the MC and the writing style. Sometimes even if I'm not a fan of the characters, if the writing is beautiful, I'll still love the story. And I like Losing It, but none of my liked NA titles have been books that I've LOVEDLOVEDLOVEDLOVED in the way that I love Shadow and Bone, The Raven Boys, and others. Even Secret Society Girl was a lot of fun, more fun than the other NA titles and something I really enjoyed but again didn't lovelovelove. Her writing is different in SSG from that in FDSTS. Most obvious is first person v. third. So why didn't you like Unteachable and the others? Is it something specifically about NA?

Yay YA fantasy!!! 2014 is the year of the contemporary because of The Fault in Our Stars and I want fantasy! More fantasy, people! Thanks for linking me to that :). (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Ahhh. I agree with that. Pretty writing won't help unless you like at least one of the characters. It might be the stories. I agree with this sentiment: I feel that happens far more often in NA than YA. It might be because a lot of NA is so focused on the romantic aspect. Though Unteachable does give Maise some character growth, the main focus is the romance. Same with the other NA I've read, whereas Fangirl is more focused on Cath. At least the titles imply that much. (hide spoiler)]
