Jessica Joyce
“Yes,” I whisper. Those are the ones that heal me the most. “You think that’s not success? You think I don’t look at you and wonder what you see in me?” His thumb moves down to my cheek, and he follows it with his eyes. “You think I don’t watch you taking pictures or editing them on your computer with that scrunchy little face you make”—he grins when I let out a choked laugh—“and sit in awe of the work you do? How people connect with it? Because I promise you, I do. If you could see yourself through my eyes, your head wouldn’t fit through the door.”

Sarah J. Maas
“I am going, Rowan. I will gather the rest of my court—our court—and then we will raise the greatest army the world has ever witnessed. I will call in every favor, every debt owed to Celaena Sardothien, to my parents, to my bloodline. And then…” She looked toward the sea, toward home. “And then I am going to rattle the stars.”
She put her arms around him—a promise. “Soon. I will send for you soon, when the time is right. Until then, try to make yourself useful.”
He shook his head, but gripped her in a bone-crushing embrace.”

“Did I tell you to touch yourself?” my stern voice demanded.
Eyes popping open, they were full of defiance. “I don’t take orders from you.”
Growling at the show of insubordination, I promised, “You’ll pay for that when I get home.”

“One other thing I shall tell you. I should not, but I will. So you do not think that it is your fault when the time comes. Because, I promise you, it will not be. I prophesied it long ago, not understanding what I spoke of until this business of the tattoos was made clear to me. I dreamed it long ago, a child’s wild nightmare. Soon, I will live it. So when it happens, you must promise me not to torment yourself with it.”
His shivering had returned as he spoke. His words came out between chattering teeth.
“What is it?” I asked with dread, already knowing.
“This time, on Aslevjal.” A terrified smile trembled at the corners of his mouth. “It is my turn to die.”
Robin Hobb, Golden Fool

“Because, Cole, your future is so damn bright. So much brighter than this shithole town has so far granted you. Promise me you’ll chase your dreams but never let them make your life any less than wonderful. If you find yourself too overwhelmed with the pressure of the game or your needs are not being fulfilled, please take a step back. Just find happiness, and the rest will follow.”

“let it go
let it leave
let it happen
nothing
in this world
was promised or
belonged to you anyway

- all you own is yourself”

“I am certainly not the first person to stress the importance of mentors. But I cannot overstate how important these people are when they see something in you that you might not yet see in yourself; who encourage you and offer you a hand up to help you get where you want to go. Often, they hear about jobs even before they're posted, and pass the information on, putting in a good word for you. They can also caution you on pitfalls and people you would do well to avoid. They are cheerleaders and crossing guards.”

“In a democracy, you cannot blame only a leading leader but also the entire leadership, including the voters’ choice, if the party fails to fulfill its promises.

Prose, whether in the form of a quotation or something else, expresses various colours of character and life in its context and accurately mirrors society; therefore, read not only the content of the writing but also understand and share what you think will enlighten others’ lives.

What are the attributes of a leader?

When the nation understands and realizes that, it blocks the route for the leadership, with the foresight, upon dishonest, rude, and immoral ones. Otherwise, the rope of idiocy remains in the hands of idiots.

The day you vote is an opportunity to vote not for a leader but for a party manifesto and constructive thoughts and plans. Indeed, you will have good fortune, a bright and joyful social status, and prosperity will always be a part of your society and life.

You are the real leader of the universe if you also lead the hearts and not just the minds. The mind keeps the knowledge while the heart showers the fragrance of love towards the soul; it is the base and circle of the knowledge.

A leader doesn’t mean to have governmental power; it means to lead its people on the right, secure, equal, fair, and visionary way of life.

Be a leader, not a lawyer and judge, not an official; express party program(me) honestly for the nation and face all the challenges before accusing, abusing, and blaming others. Indeed, it shows dignity and venerable leadership.

The opposition leaders and those in power can keep reputable the four pillars of democracy in the context of constitutional duties, transparent justice, truth, and honesty; they can also discredit those by their wrong character and fallacious decisions and deeds.

Real and true leader neither has a special status nor contradict others.
If he keeps the distance in any way or shape
If he says things that don’t exist
If he brings you in a destructive direction
If he what promises, but do not keep his words
If he put you naked in the open sky and himself in a comfortable tent
If he gives you false hopes rather than the practical helping
He is just an opportunist, a cheater, and a liar but not a leader.

Promises of the leader before the election build expectations in the minds of voters, and after winning the election, those cause humiliation in the eyes of voters if the leader fails to fulfill them. Therefore, fly not so high that you cannot land easily; be honest with yourself.

Political leadership is a significant spirit and defense of the armed forces of any state, whereas the armed forces are a protective shield for them. Both are compulsory for each other, as the political leadership has one point, and the armed forces have zero points, which becomes ten points. Otherwise, it stays one or zero, establishing nothing.

A selfish and empty of vision and solution leadership prefers its own political and personal benefits and interests instead of its people; indeed, it collapses in the face of ruffians and traitors of the constitution. As a reality, such a state and all institutions face conspiracies in global affairs; consequently, diplomatic isolation and trade failure become destiny; it leads towards destruction with self-adopted strategy and character.”

“We need not doubt that the Evangelical movement had a powerful effect in waking up eighteenth-century England from its religious apathy, or that eighteenth-century England needed it. Where it failed was in its long-term effects. Religion became identified in the popular mind with a series of moods, in which the worshipper, disposed thereto by all the arts of the revivalist, relished the flavours of spiritual peace. You needed neither a theology nor a liturgy; you did not take the strain of intellectual inquiry, nor associate yourself whole-heartedly with any historic tradition of worship. You floated, safely enough, on the little raft of your own faith, eagerly throwing out the lifeline to such drowning neighbours as were ready to catch it; meanwhile the ship was foundering.

It is this by-passing of an historic tradition in favour of a personal experience that has created the modem religious situation in England, and to some extent in the English-speaking world. The Oxford Movement did but lock the door on a stolen horse. On the one hand, it is assumed that every man's religion is his own affair; it does not concern, need not alarm his neighbours. On the other hand, the Christian witness has become a sectional affair; Christianity is one of the fads which people adopt if they are interested in that kind of thing. A poster in a railway station, bidding you be prepared to meet your God, is passed by with an indulgent smile. If people are burdened with a sense of sin, by all means let them seek comfort in some conventicle which promises them release from it; the same is perhaps true of people who begin to feel lonely in old age. But always religion is thought of, instinctively, as a way of changing from one state of mind into another.”
Ronald Knox

“Your Enlightenedness.” Omar smiled, taking a sip from a glass of wine. “That’s correct. Not man, or woman. Just god. Our Honorari here has discovered the main problem with religious dogma: the human mind’s weakness and wants. Nowhere in the scripture does it say that all women should cover their heads when entering a place of worship. God did not make these rules and laws. If you believe in an all seeing, all knowing being you must also believe in the fact that they probably have more important things to do. They’re simply born out of man’s prejudice out of those they see as lesser than themselves. A method of control.” “That is surprisingly progressive coming from a man such as yourself,” Two said, seemingly in legitimate shock. “We’re not all bad, I promise,” Omar chuckled. “God says we’re all made in his image. His children and his flock. Who am I, as a normal human, to question if his children are man, woman, skinwalker, or something else? My only duty is to love and guide them. If you find yourself trying to judge them, well, that means you think you know better than God, does it not?”
Joe Kassabian, Burning City: A Military Sci-Fi Series

“Have we then forgotten England's blessings in Palestine? During the previous world war in 1914-18, England promised that the Jews would get their own national state again in Palestine, if they would support England during the war with their gold. But England also needed the support of the Arabs to a great extent in the fight against the Turks, and then it came into harm's way for promising that the Arabs would also get Palestine as part of a large Arab kingdom. But it is not even possible to promise the same thing to two different people, and especially not when the intention in reality is that you want this thing yourself. The smoking heaps of ruins in the Arab cities of Palestine bear witness to the British thanks for the Arabs' help at the time, and it tells us a little about how much British promises are worth.”

“Let me make you feel good, Hannah. Unburden yourself. I promise you’ll feel better.”

“As another example, if, through deceit and lies, you caused someone to go to jail unjustly, you may find yourself at some future point imprisoned for a crime that you did not commit. If you then accept what is happening and learn all you can from the experience, you will balance and clear the karmic debt. But if you go into hate, anger, and revenge, you will perpetuate your karma and get to experience it again and again until you learn to bring yourself into balance with it. You might not experience imprisonment as a physical prison experience, but perhaps you might find yourself “trapped” in a job you cannot stand and unable, for some reason, to change that situation. You might find yourself “trapped” in a family situation or in a marriage. There are a lot of ways to be imprisoned. When something happens that appears to hurt you, rather than resisting it and pushing it away, you will embrace it. You will expand your consciousness to encompass the changes and the new situation and to find what new freedoms are available to you. When you begin to understand karma, you can begin to realize that some actions that appear to be “bad” may be actions of fulfilling karma and, therefore, right and proper within that framework. For example, in a previous lifetime, a mother abandons her child and leaves it in the hands of people who do not really care for the child. Because the mother refused to accept and handle her responsibility for the child, the child grew up unloved, abused, misused, and leading a very unhappy, embittered life. The child reembodies at some point, grows up, and has a child of her own, who happens to be her mother from the previous life. She may feel no love for her baby and may abandon it, giving it the opportunity to have the same experience and learn what it is like to be abandoned and unloved. People who observe this might be apt to judge this mother for abandoning the child, when she is actually only fulfilling the karma and bringing to the other consciousness the experience that is necessary to free it from the karma it had created in that other lifetime. So unless you can read the karmic records and see what is within each person’s heart, it is best not to judge actions that appear to be unusual or cruel. It may be an action fulfilling a karmic debt.”
John-Roger, Fulfilling Your Spiritual Promise

“Always be managing your brand. It is what gets you hired and keeps you there. Be consistent in the way you show yourself to the world. Follow up on what you promise. Know who you are, what you want, and what you stand for, and find clear ways to demonstrate that to those around you. Your brand is the promise that you make to yourself and the world.”
Aaron Basko

“In my restless dreams, I see that town. Silent Hill. You promised me you'd take me there again someday. But because of me, you were never able to. Well, I'm alone there now…
In our ”“special place.”
Waiting for you…
Waiting for you to come to see me. But you never do. And so I wait, wrapped in my cocoon of pain and loneliness. I know I've done a terrible thing to you. Something you'll never forgive me for. I wish I could change that, but I can't. I feel so pathetic and ugly lying here, waiting for you...
Every day I stare up at the cracks in the ceiling, and all I can think about is how unfair it all is...
The doctor came today. He told me I could go home for a short stay. It's not that I'm getting better. It's just that this may be my last chance...
I think you know what I mean...
Even so, I'm glad to be coming home. I've missed you terribly. But I'm afraid James. I'm afraid you don't really want me to come home.
Whenever you come see me, I can tell how hard it is on you...
I don't know if you hate me or pity me... Or maybe I just disgust you....
I'm sorry about that. When I first learned that I was going to die, I just didn't want to accept it. I was so angry all the time, and I struck out at everyone I loved most. Especially you, James.
That's why I understand if you do hate me. But I want you to know this, James. I'll always love you.
Even though our life together had to end like this, I still wouldn't trade it for the world. We had some wonderful years together.
Well, this letter has gone on too long, so I'll say goodbye. I told the nurse to give this to you after I'm gone. That means that when you read this, I'll already be dead.
I can't tell you to remember me, but I can't bear for you to forget me. These last few years since I became ill...I'm so sorry for what I did to you, did to us...
You've given me so much and I haven't been able to return a single thing. That's why I want you to live for yourself now. Do what's best for you, James.
James...
You made me happy.
“I love you, Mary.”
As the car began to slowly sink to the bottom of the lake, James pulled his wife close and gently held her. Their wish had finally come true. They would be together. And now they had an eternity to enjoy their happiness.”

“So when you are tempted by sin, ask yourself, “What will my actions do to my relationship with Jesus?” While the Lord has promised to love you, He also expects you to love Him in return, obeying His commands.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon
“All the promises of God are “yes” and “amen” in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 1:20), and as He is ours, every promise is ours if we will only lie down upon them in restful faith. Come, weary one, and use your Lord’s words as your pillows. Lie down in peace (Psalm 4:8). Dream only of Him. Jesus is your ladder of light. See the angels coming and going to Him between your soul and your God, and be sure that the promise is your own God-given portion. See that it will not be robbery for you to take it to yourself as spoken specifically to you.”

“You have to stop! Stop beating yourself up because you are not where you thought you would be. God is not done with you yet. He is still working on you, shaping you and developing you. God has put a promise in your heart. Keep praying. Keep expecting. Your increase is coming.”
