Veronika Barany > Veronika's Quotes

“We cultivate love when we allow our most vulnerable and powerful selves to be deeply seen and known, and when we honor the spiritual connection that grows from that offering with trust, respect, kindness and affection.

Love is not something we give or get; it is something that we nurture and grow, a connection that can only be cultivated between two people when it exists within each one of them – we can only love others as much as we love ourselves.

Shame, blame, disrespect, betrayal, and the withholding of affection damage the roots from which love grows. Love can only survive these injuries if they are acknowledged, healed and rare.”
― Brené Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection

“Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance.”
― Brené Brown, Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the Way We Live, Love, Parent, and Lead

“Let your will burn in this fire so that it takes you nowhere else. Let your self be burned in this fire of eternity, love and peace. Don't be afraid of this fire, it is love itself. This desire for freedom is the fire of love!”
― H.W.L. Poonja, The Truth Is

“In our country we call this type of mother love teng ai. My son has told me that in men's writing it is composed of two characters. The first means pain; the second means love. That is a mother's love.”
― Lisa See, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan

“The gates of hell are open night and day;
Smooth the descent, and easy is the way:
But to return, and view the cheerful skies,
In this the task and mighty labor lies.”
― Virgil, The Aeneid

“But although the cliche says that power always corrupts, what is seldom said ... is that power always reveals. When a man is climbing, trying to persuade others to give him power, concealment is necessary. ... But as a man obtains more power, camouflage becomes less necessary.”
― Robert A. Caro, The Passage of Power

“Sometimes I think it's better to suffer bitter unhappiness and to fight and to scream out, and even to suffer that terrible pain, than to just be... safe. At least she knows she's living.”
― Betty Smith, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn

“Going to the woods is going home.”
― John Muir

“Man is least himself when he talks in his own person. Give him a mask, and he will tell you the truth.”
― Oscar Wilde

“I Am With You Wherever You Are
Don Juan once picked up a small stone and flung it into the mountain, then he said, "Look, Carlos. What once was a pebble in my hand has become a mountain."
Likewise, you have come to Satsang, the Truth, and have become Truth and Love. This Satsang is the river Jahnavi, which purifies you when you touch her. Those who have a dip in this river become one with her, and they will return a different person. He came here for only a couple of days but stayed for months, because here Truth and Love are flowing. Wherever there is Satsang — where a teacher is speaking to those who need this beauty and truth — that is a place to stay.
I will give you the name Jahnavi — that which blesses and purifies everything. She relieves all of the pain and sin which people carry for lifetimes. Just touch her — immediately they are washed away. She is so blessing and caring. She is the Mother. Whoever swims in her becomes eternal. Like this, bless everybody that comes and enters your heart.”
― Sri H.W.L. Poonja, The Truth Is

― Robert Frost

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”
― Mahatma Gandhi

“Grief does not change you, Hazel. It reveals you.”
― John Green, The Fault in Our Stars
