Goodreads asked K.C. Sivils:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

K.C. Sivils When I am writing a novel, work of non-fiction or a short story, I set a word count for each day until the project is finished. I make myself write until that word count is reached.

Keep in mind, it doesn't have to be good, usable or even salvageable. I just have to write until the word count is met. If it can be used with editing or rewriting, great. If not, I just save it and set it aside.

Eventually, the story will decide to tell itself. You just have to keep poking it until it wakes up.
