Anthea answers “So I've already read Firefly Lane awhile...”

So I've already read Firefly Lane awhile ago actually and I've seen Fly Away but I never knew it was the sequel to it. Reading the summary makes me really, really want to read the sequel but with looking at all the reviews, I'm slightly saddened to know that there are so many low stars. I'm wondering if it's even worth it to read the sequel?

Anthea I enjoyed Firefly Lane and have just started Fly Away.
