Taylor Reed asked this question about Fly Away (Firefly Lane, #2):
So I've already read Firefly Lane awhile ago actually and I've seen Fly Away but I never knew it was the sequel to it. Reading the summary makes me really, really want to read the sequel but with looking at all the reviews, I'm slightly saddened to know that there are so many low stars. I'm wondering if it's even worth it to read the sequel?

Don't pay attention to others' opinions on ANY book. There are some books I love, and no one else does. In the reverse, there are some books everyone raves about that leave me cold. Ultimately, it is personal preference. I generally don't look at reviews until I have already formed my opinion or have some questions about the book that don't add up. That's generally when I look at reviews. As a coincidence, I noticed that all the books I am currently reading rank in the 3+ category including The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, which is often considered one of the great American novels. What that says to me is that even great literature has those people who don't like a particular book very much.

So, if you want to read a book, read it. (in this case, Fly Away).

By the way, I haven't finished Fly Away yet, but am enjoying it...for what it is worth.(less)
