Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Jason Tesar Beren and Lúthien, from Tokien's Silmarillion. They fell madly in love with each other from the start and remained devoted and inseparable for the rest of their lives. Their relationship is one of the few that comes to mind when thinking about literary couples. I think it resonates with me because it mirrors my own relationship with my wife, Carly. We've always been best friends and fiercely loyal to each other. In my own writing, I try to portray that same uncomplicated love in the relationship between Maeryn and Adair. I think it's refreshing, in our modern culture of radical individualism, to read about two people who try to build up and support each other rather than manipulating or controlling.
