Amy Pond and the eleventh incarnation of Dr. Who, played by Matt Smith. I love it because they are very different and they feel attraction and repulsion at the same time, and in the middle there is a third guy, Rory, who make more fun the couple.
In literature most of my favourite novels are based on lonely characters, so I don't recall a "big couple", probably the best is Sancho and Don Quijote, a very old classic :-)
