Goodreads asked Eva Pohler:

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Eva Pohler How in the world can I reduce the hundreds of stories I've read over decades to one favorite couple? I can reduce them to a handful, though. The first to spring to mind is Leah and Anatole in Barbara Kingsolver's The Poisonwood Bible--so beautiful and unexpected. From the young adult genre, I think of Cassandra Clare's The Infernal Devices and the relationship between Jem and Tessa--or Stephenie Meyer's The Host and the interesting relationship between Melanie, Jared, Wanderer, and Ethan. I love how distinct Melanie and Wanderer are even though they share the same body. From the classics, I would choose Jane Austen's Lizzy and Mr. Darcy, even though they hate each other for most of the story.
