Fiona Davis One of my very favorite fictional couples are from Jo Baker's "Longbourn," a retelling of Pride & Prejudice from the household staff's POV. The tension in the way Baker depicts the budding romance between the new footman, James Smith, and the housemaid Sarah is divine. And the ending is perfect!
