Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

Emily Tilton I'm going to go a little off the beaten path with this one, because I frankly have so many favorites that I want to highlight one that could easily get overlooked, and which dovetails very nicely with my next book, due out sometime soon. Lily Dale and John Eames, of Anthony Trollope's "The Small House at Allington" and "The Last Chronicle of Barset" never get together, and that's frustrating. It's also Trollope's best portrayal, in my opinion, of the plight of the Victorian gentleman's daughter. Worth checking out, if Victorian is a thing for you.
