Goodreads asked I.D. Locke:

Who is your favorite fictional couple, and why?

I.D. Locke That's a really tough question if you're asking about my characters. It's not all that much easier if you're asking about other people's work.

For characters not mine from books, it's Ryan Cawdor and Kristy Wroth from the Deathlands series by James Axler. They're in love with each other but they also really respect one another and they're not afraid to call each other out if one of them is behaving stupidly/irrationally. They work well together as a team whether as a couple or as team mates trying to survive in a post-nuked world. They're also both really kick-ass.

For my guys... it depends a lot on who I'm writing at the moment because I'm usually deep in their heads.

Moswen (from Balancing Karma) is one of my favs to write because he's just so much fun to write with the crazy things that happen to him and poor Kijika is so long-suffering to put up with it all. Their relationship is pretty straight-forward and I find it comfortable to write them.

Sleet (from various Absolute stories) is a blast because he's a sociopath and I can do anything with him and as long as it is in the name of his end goal, it's fine. As part of a triad with Fei-Lau and Khale, writing their relationship is fun because they each bring something the other two need to the table. Despite Fei-Lau being a god, he doesn't have all the answers and he has mis-read situations. Khale, being new to loving people romantically is stumbling around in the dark at times. Sleet, for all his mental issues is sort of like the glue that binds them together. For the sheer complexity of their relationship, they are one of my favs to write. The level of kink they get up to (heavy BDSM) is also challenging to write.

I could probably write a dissertation on each of my couples and why they're my favourite. Truly a hard question to answer.
