Lisa Jackson:
How did you cope with rejection when you were first starting out? I have written a novel and getting lots of rejections from agents. Have you any suggestions on the way forward?
Lisa Jackson
I’m not sure how I would find an agent these days. It’s been so many years ago for me and the industry has changed a lot in that time. If I were to begin writing as a career now, I’d probably try my hand at self-publishing e-books as a way to start making a name for myself. Rejection is always tough, but unfortunately it’s a big part of this business. You have to have a thick skin. Also as writing is a lonely profession it’s good to have some trusted people around you to help you, critique partners and good friends to read your work or cheer you up or buy you a drink. Chin up!

Hi, Lisa. I have enjoyed your books for years. I am working on my debut novel a historical mystery. I am confused on this outline vs. "pantser". I'm not sure whether to just start writing or try to outline. Do you favor one over another? Also, where do you possibly find the time to be so prolific? Do you write for a certain amount of time or a specific number of words per day? Thanks so much!

Lisa: I just love the Alvarez & Pescoli Novels and just finished Deserves To Die so can you tell me the complete from lst to last book I am to read? I bought the "Expecting To Die" and "Willing To Die" so which one should I read next? Also, will you be coming out with another after the last one? I'm hooked on them!!

How did you decide you wanted to become an author? And where do you get your inspiration from? I've read almost 8 of your books (currently reading Most Likely To Die) and have ordered 2 more, and I just can't put them down; there's so much passion in your writing, even in the goriest scenes! Thank you for your amazing books!
