Aha. I just thought it would be amusing for them to call-back to it without revealing any details.
We couldn't make the circus story fit into the revised novel-y structure of "Quiet". We've put it to one side and one day I'll work it up into a longer tale and give it the breathing room it lacked in the original.
It's no longer "out there" but it's not forgotten.

I've read your books twice now and am fascinated by the back stories you have not told. I think you have a hit on your hands already. Please hurry and write their story from the beginning. I am new to Lady Hardcastle and her tiny servant and I absolutely love them! I finished the 2 books in 4 days. The characters are amazing and I love your writing style. I saw that you were doing new versions and those were the ones I read, did I miss anything from not reading the originals? A story about the circus was touched on and I didn't know if that was in book form or just something we are to speculate on?
