Maddie Findley
Maddie Findley asked Jeff Zentner:

How do you typically approach a new writing project? I'm personally very character-driven in my writing and find that I sometimes struggle finding the through-lines in terms of plot and particularly in writing endings. Do you have any tricks or advice for focusing all the loose threads that spring up in the writing process?

Jeff Zentner I always start a project by getting to know my characters well enough that they can tell me what they want and where they hope to end up. So I never start writing until I know my characters inside and out and how their story will end. Make sure you keep your eye always on the stakes of the story.
