What made you decide to tackle a novel, after/during your success as a song writer?

Actually, it was lack of success as a songwriter that made me think that I might be better suited to reaching the people I needed to reach through another artistic medium.
Plus, I started really wanting to reach young adults after volunteering at Tennessee Teens Rock Camp and Southern Girls Rock Camp. I figured I was better suited to writing the kind of books young adults like than trying to make the kind of music they like.

I just Finished Rayne and Delilah's Midnite Matinee the other night, and I loved it so much! It was really funny and heartbreaking at once. It reminded me of myself as a teenager, and to be honest, even now. I identified heavily with Delia. Perhaps this is too personal a question, but was there anything particular that inspired her issues with abandonment?

Hi! I just finished your book last night. I pulled an all nighter to finish. It was very beautifully written and moved me to tears. I can't wait for your next book. You've probably all ready gotten requests for a sequel. I would love to find out what became of Dill and Lydia. But I'm also curious about what happened to Dill's parents and Travis's father. Could Dill's mother finally see her husband for what he was?
