Did you ever imagine Rebus would still ever have a 30th anniversary ?

Ian Rankin Rebus was only meant to be in that one book. Then the series got traction. Having retired him at the end of Exit Music I thought I was done with him, but he had other ideas. So no, he was never meant to stick around this long. But I'm glad he did.

I really like how you use Edinburgh as a setting and really really like it when you take your stories on the road to other parts of Scotland, and incorporate bits of history. How did the little coffins in the Nat'l Museum come to your attention for The Falls?
