May I ask what the second book in the Bear and Nightingale series is about? I am currently reading the first, the writing and themes are amazing, this might be one of my favorite books of all time.

Katherine Arden Well, without giving too much away, book 2 is a direct continuation, chronologically, from The Bear and the Nightingale. While BEAR is set in the countryside, Book 2 takes place largely in medieval Moscow. Vasya's two older siblings, Sasha and Olga, are involved, and the culture and politics of medieval Muscovy are more important in this installment. You will also see some familiar and some new creatures from Russian folklore. Does that help? I am so glad you are enjoying BEAR.
