Can I ask why you changed the cover for "A Curious Beginning (Veronica Speedwell Series #1)"? The new one does not compare to the original. In my opinion it tends to make it blend in with so many others! The original cover is what drew me to the book in the first place, I love it! It makes the book a work of art outside as well as inside!

Deanna Raybourn I didn't change the cover at all--such decisions, unless an author self-publishes--are always in the hands of the publisher. In this case, my publisher, in consultation with key accounts and the marketing department, decided to go with a more sophisticated concept for the packaging that better reflects the content of the series. The original cover was judged to be too "Gothic/woman in jeopardy" while the new concept is closer to the British editions and also conveys a bit of whimsy.
