Nancy I'm sorry to say I disagree with them. I probably would have passed it by if I had seen the new cover first! I would have immediately thought romance novel and dismissed it, probably before reading the synopsis! I think it's a mistake on their part because it makes it blend in to the plethora of books with similar fluffy, dainty, too feminine book covers. I know my husband would never have read it! I only wish I had gotten a hard cover of it before they changed it!

Goodluck, I will watch for your further additions to this series.

Diana Conner-Marks I concur. I like old cover.

Nancy Thank you Diana. If anyone else agrees please say so! Maybe the publishers will take note if enough of us say something!!

Diana Conner-Marks I agree Nancy. I wouldn't have picked up the book if it wasn't for the cover.

Deanna Raybourn It's always interesting how different perceptions are! They chose to repackage with the blue cover because they thought it was LESS romantic and feminine than the red cover with the woman. If you want a hardcover with the image of the fleeing woman, they are still available, but the series is going forward with the new packaging featuring the title rather than a picture. Thanks for the good wishes!

Traci I love the series and would have read the book anyway because I love your books. Having said that, I liked the first cover as well.

Katie (Foundinfaerietales) And here I am stalking this thread from four years ago to see if the first book has ever been re-released with the updated cover in hardcover. I like my books to match if they can. Lol! I know rereleases rarely happen, but PRH did do it for one of their series, so I was holding out a tiny bit of hope. I like both covers to be honest. I had purchased an audiobook copy of the first book when it first released. But I think the new covers are stunning and look more professional, and show that the publisher had confidence in the series and the writing.

Nancy Katie, it hasn't been re-released that I'm aware of. Interestingly enough they used the blue cover on the paperback version. I too would like to have the whole series of hardback look the same, hopefully someday the will republish it.
