Many thanks, John, I'm honored. As I've said, I recently revisited that novel because of (again) film interest, and it was quite an experience, the first time I've ever re-read one of my books after it's been delivered. It got me to thinking that The Terranauts is, in a way, Drop City under glass.

I have read at least eight of your novels and enjoyed them all. They are wonderfully descriptive and draw me into each scene "as if" I'm watching the flawed lives you've created from only a few feet away. Maybe it's how you use comparisons. Is there a reason why you use the phrase "as if" over and over on so many pages in this latest novel, THTC?

I've read all of your books but love, love, love Drop City, re-reading it every few years. Don't mean to gush but wanted to tell you how entertaining the story line is to this boomer who never experienced commune living but always wondered if I might be missing something. My question is: did you live in a commune before writing this book?
