I was in my late fifties. I got an agent, Carolyn Whitaker who I was with for 10 years before getting published. I will always be grateful to her for believing in me, I am sure she was beginning to despair of me ever getting published. I would recommend you get an agent, a publisher is more likely to read a manuscript from a reputable agency.
