What similar book with "The Blue Castle" and those written by Bronte sisters or Jane Austen would you recommend? I just loved these and now I'm a bit depressed that I won't ever find something as beautiful as these :)

The mo…moreI would second a recommendation for Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell. It was her last novel, and it’s unfinished, but I love it dearly. The movie adaptation is nice, too. Although I’ve never read them, I feel that Doctor Thorne by Anthony Trollope and Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens are similar to The Blue Castle in their themes. The film adaptations are very enjoyable. (less)
