asked:
What similar book with "The Blue Castle" and those written by Bronte sisters or Jane Austen would you recommend? I just loved these and now I'm a bit depressed that I won't ever find something as beautiful as these :)

I would second a recommendation for Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell. It was her last novel, and it’s unfinished, but I love it dearly. The movie adaptation is nice, too. Although I’ve never read them, I feel that Doctor Thorne by Anthony Trollope and Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens are similar to The Blue Castle in their themes. The film adaptations are very enjoyable.

L.M. Montgomery has several other series/books you might enjoy, like the Emily series or the Anne of Green Gables series. You could try Elizabeth Gaskell (Wives and Daughters, North and South); Gene Stratton Porter (Freckles and Girl of the Limberlost), Frances Hodgson Burnett (A Little Princess, and The Secret Garden) or Grace Livingston Hill (The Enchanted Barn, Duskin and Miranda).
