After so many books with Maisie Dobbs, was it difficult to write about other characters? Did you find Maisie creeping into the story sometimes?

Jacqueline Winspear I loved writing about something different! And it was quite easy to keep Maisie in her box while I was writing THE CARE AND MANAGEMENT OF LIES. I also write essays and articles, as I believe a writer should try to broaden her scope, and keep the creative muscles well toned!
