Good book, but narration seems unrealistic. I mean, why would mother carry Arjie everywhere?

Yvonne Blackwood I don't regard the narration as overly unrealistic; as one other reader states, the mother used him for cover. What I found a tad out of place was that he was always able to eavesdrop without being caught whenever something juicy was occurring!
~ Sri Lanka , guys . Sri Lanka. You have to be a kid of a Lankan parent to get that .
Francesca Barile well of course in novels something should be a bit unrealistic otherwise it's not fivtion but just narration of actual events

Marloes Baren Well, not everywhere (remember her leaving the house for the regular parties etc. she attends) The instances where she did take the child along, didn't seem implausible to me in any way.
It's a first person narration, so I wouldn't assume she favored this one child on the basis of those being the only mom-child-trips being told about.
Anato Wasn't she using him for cover? That's why. And also some parents seem to do this, they favour one of their children and drag them everywhere.
