Hello Leisa! I just want to say your Starcrossed series is my all time favorite series. I relate to it so so much and I love the characters so much! So I was wondering, where did you receive your inspiration for writing this series from? It was so amazing and I bet it took such thinking to come up with the complex personalities of the characters! Thank you so much for this amazing series!

Hi Aisha!
Well, the initial idea for Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet came from watching Baz Lurhmann's movie version of Romeo and Juliet. I'd studied the play in high school and drama school, and had always HATED Romeo. I found him to be a fickle, whining baby man, and had no idea how he could whinge about Rosaline breaking his heart and swearing off women forever in one breath, and propose to a chick he met at a party in the next. I figured if he really was betrayed and hurt by Rosaline, he'd run a million miles when he met a woman to whom he felt a soul-deep connection. After all, his feelings for Juliet were a thousand times stronger, so she therefore had the potential to hurt him a thousand times more. I thought it would have been more realistic for him to run a million miles and try his best to avoid her at every turn. So that's where the initial idea came from. I thought seeing someone try to deny being with their soulmates would be interesting, and so, Ethan and Cassie were born.
Thanks so much for your question and for your very kind words. :)

Hello Ms. Rayven! I am a first-time reader of your's, a few chapters into your book Mr. Romance, and I am trying to form a picture of the characters in my head. Often stories have a white bias, but you mention several characteristics of Eden and her sister that makes me think they may be black. Could you clear this up for me? Thank you, hope your writing is going well and you're healthy in this time!
