Has there been any one from your past, friend/family/rival, that had a vibrant impact on you and your writing? How so? Have you based a character on them yet?

Zoraida Córdova I typically don't base characters off people, but I do have character traits that inspire some. The group of guy friends in The Vicious Deep was inspired by my group of guy friends when I was younger. The grandmother in Labyrinth Lost was named after my own great grandmother a tribute.
