Hi Roshani, I really enjoyed The Star-Touched Queen and I wondered if you knew how the story would end right from the beginning. Did you have it all planned out before you opened your laptop/notebook or was it a journey that changed while you were writing, maybe even having a complete different ending?

Roshani Chokshi Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed. I knew how The Star-Touched Queen would end right from the beginning, but getting there and watching how the characters evolved was the real journey. Maya started off one way and then stole her story. Kamala wasn't even part of the original draft, but one day galloped onto a scene and refused to remove herself. Even Amar was different. His motivations, emotional reservations, and even his personality started off one way and became something different by the end. To be honest, it was a little terrifying watching how the story grew out of control. I think sometimes we like to fit narratives into boxes and squish them into place. But in the end, they'll have their way!
