I'm currently reading an ARC, so I'll keep you posted, but a couple chapters in it does not appear to be set in the Graceling realm. It does, however, seem to have some fantastical elements. Right now I'm guessing it's mostly realism with a dash of the fantastical thrown in, though I could be proven wrong. It also seems like it will be awesome. I'll let you know for sure when I've finished.

It is not in the Graceling Realm. It is a little hard to categorize into a genre, but it isn't standard fantasy. I'd call it Surrealist Fition, if that was a term anyone used. Or maybe it's Speculative Fiction.
I still recommend you read it though, Jane has a lot of great qualities in common with Katsa.

I don't believe that it is seeing as it doesn't seem to have as many fantastical elements. I think it's more of an orphan who get invited somewhere by unknown family mystery. But don't bet me on it!
