Kyra asked Katie McGarry:

I absolutely completely fell in love with Pushing the Limits and have recommended it so countless people. I've started working on my own novel, and I'm realizing how much I enjoy writing in addition to reading. I was wondering, where do you get inspiration? And how do you make the transitions from one day to another, one place to another, one action to another, smooth and like they flow? THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Katie McGarry Hi Kyra,

Thank you for reading my books and for the recommendations!

I receive my inspiration from my past experiences as well as situations I watch my teens go through.

As for transitions, I think it helps that I plot my books. It helps keep me on track and makes me think of terms of .... I know I need to go in this direction so what can I do at the end of this chapter to get me there?

I think of each chapter as it's own mini story with a cliff hanger at the end. That also helps me with transitions.

I have a new series that will be released in January 2019! The first book is called Only a Breath Apart! I hope you'll have a chance to read it!

Good luck with the writing! I'm living proof that dreams do come true!

Thank you,

Katie
