Hi Gena! It's so amazing that you're answering questions, as a really big fan I really appreciate it! I wanted to know where you got inspiration for Alice and Cole from your Series Alice In Zombieland? This has been my favourite series I've read and I'm so happy to say that you were the author. You really helped me get back into reading when I wasn't feeling very up to it! Thank you so much.

Gena Showalter Thank you so much!

Cole is an amalgamation of everything I love about romance novel heroes. Alpha, protective, courageous, irreverent, fascinated by one woman, witty, strong, capable and (at heart) kind.

I wrote Ali as his equal. She is as protective, courageous, strong and capable as Cole, and her sense of humor delighted me. She's just as kind, but she's no pushover. Her loyalty must be earned, but once it is, she will die for you if necessary.

Basically, when I sat down to write Alice in Zombieland, I had a single objective with each character. Cole: Make him the boy I want to date. Ali: Make her the girl I want to hang out with. :)
