Goodreads asked Patrick Paul Garlinger:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Patrick Paul Garlinger I love this question, and it requires me to distinguish between types of writing -- channeled and non-channeled writing. I am exceptionally fortunate that I don't deal with particularly strong writer's block; just moments when the writing doesn't flow as well. When it comes to non-channeled writing, what I could call "my own writing," I find that I just need to step away and get out of my head, and allow the writing to speak to me when it's ready. Getting into my body through yoga or exercise, meditation, and time away from writing most often allow whatever is stopping the flow to dissolve. With channeled writing, I am not in control and cannot determine when the messages I download will arrive. But to the extent that I distract myself with too much mental activity and don't give myself enough mental time, I can sometimes slow down or delay such writing, and so I maintain a strong set of spiritual practices (meditation, mantra, prayer, etc.) to strengthen and keep open my connection with the guides who speak to me.
