Goodreads asked René Friedrich:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

René Friedrich Not depending on writing for income. Taking more time. I enjoy writing and I can produce what could be considered sufficient quality. But early on, I found that the quality would suffer, if I had to write to an external deadline, not one I set myself. I think that's the modern meaning of writer's block: Not having a defined minimum high quality, on demand. It all comes down to definitions of quality by yourself and by others. Change the definition and the block may disappear. In due time, it seems more a question of practicing writing, to improve the flow. But quality cycles are a reality, and practice won't solve that. One needs to refresh the own interests, start new cycles. Re-invent, re-discover yourself. Get better again, find unused potential. Maybe a good method for any type of block.
